She was a Haddonfield resi dent since 1940 and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Haddonfield serving as a teacher in the church school and, for 25 years, was a mem ber of the church's Women's Association. She was also a member of Cooper Hospital Auxiliary and was assistant librarian of the Haddonfield Historical Society. She is survived by a brother, Miller E.

Since 1967, she had served as director of Com-Jet-Set, a trav el tour service for naval offi cers and their families located at the Philadelphia Naval Base. During World War II she served with the State Department at Berne, Switzerland, aiding the repatriation of American fliers. She later was transferred to Germany, where she re mained with the State Department until 1948. Surviving are her husband, Louis manager of the Com- misioned Officers Club at the Philadelphia Navail Base; a son, Air Force Sgt. Gregory sta tioned in Thailand, and a daugh ter, Pamela at home.

CLIFTON (UPI) The man who played a significant role in the building of the 118-mile New Jersey Trunpike, Paul L. Troast, is dead at the age of 78. The celebrated engineer and unsuccessful GOP gubernatorial candidate in 1953, died yester day at his home, 324 Dwas Line Road, following an illness. A private funeral service is scheduled to be held there Tuesday. Troast was the first chairman of the Turnpike Authority and at the time of his death, chairman of the New Jersey Manufacturers Association.

He was a former chairman of the state Tercentenary Commission when New Jersey celebrated its 300 birthday eight years ago. Troast supervised construction of the $220 million superhighway, which first opened in 1951 and was finally completed in January, 1953. lhe engineer, who was a graduate of Cornell University and a trustee of Bucknell University, had been a patient at Passaic General Hospital. Troast was also retired president of the Mahony-Troast Construction Co. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs.

Camp to Open For 'Poor' Boys SEA GIRT (UPI) Summer camp opens here Sunday for the first group of 200 disadvantaged boys enrolled in the governor's youth program. Gov.

William T. Cahill plans to visit the boys' camp Monday at the National Guard Training Center. The boys will spend one week at the camp and other groups of 200 youths will attend the camp for each of the following three weeks. The camp program includes all forms of athletics, boating, nature hikes, arts and crafts and movies. It also includes trips to major league baseball games in New York and Philadelphia.
