Mr. Radcliffe, 39, of 129 Algonquin Trail, Medford Lakes, died Sunday in Cooper Medical Center, Camden.

He was bom in Camden, and was a longtime Medford Lakes resident. He was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, attended San Diego Law School, and graduated from Temple Law School. He did graduate work at Harvard Law School. He was a Marine Corps officer, and in 1967 was appointed one of 58 attorneys in the state appointed as assistant deputy public defenders.

He was also a senior partner in the Deitz, Allen, Radcliffe and Sweeney law firm in Mount Holly. Mr. Radcliffe is survived by his wife, Marianne; two daughters, Michelle and Susan, both at home; and his mother, Mrs. Mildred M. Morrison of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.

The Bellevue Stratford Hotel headquarters of an ill-fated Pennsylvania American Legion convention last July was visited by 170 doctors and scientists Monday who gathered to examine theories on the disease. "We have outside consultants studying heavy metals, we're still looking at nickel carbonyl and we're feeding water from the hotel's air conditioning system to mice," said Dr.

David Fraser, an epidemiologist from the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta. "The mice haven't died," he added. After the July 21-24 convention, 29 people died and 151 others became ill with the mysterious disease. The last victim was the Bellevue Stratford itself which lost business because of reports linking the hotel to the phantom killer. Investigators have spent at least $500,000 over the last 3'a months to track down the disease.

At Monday's symposium sponsored by the American Lung Association, the progress report was disheartening. "I am a little concerned that we've eliminated all causes of this epidemic," said Dr. Horatio T. Enterline of the University of Pennsylvania medical school. "Either there was no epidemic or we're all wrong." "I really don't know if we'll ever find an answer," said Fraser.
