of one so dearly loved by all. A bitter grief, a shock severe, It was to part with one so dear. Why did he go when life seemed fair, And no dark clouds were near. To dim the brightness'of our lives, And start the bitter tear. We thought not al the close of day.

When night veiled earth and sky, That one so full of life hope. Would breathe his last goodbye. If we had seen him to the last, And held his dying fund, And heard the last sigh trom his heart. We would not feel so bad. We did not know the pain he had.

We did not see him die. We only know he went far away. And never said goodbye. The years may wipe out many things. But this they wipe out never.
