to H. Wagner, all-star catcher, 64 RIVERTON Harold "Hal" Wagner, a two-time American League all-star catcher, died Tuesday in Zurbrugg Memorial Hospital in Riverside. He was 64. Mr. Wagner, who lived in Riverton, spent 12 years in the major leagues and was named to the American League all-star team in 1941 and 1946, although he did not compete in three seasons during World War II because of military service.

He was a native of Burlington County. An outstanding performer in the Burlington County League, Mr. Wagner was signed by Connie Mack and broke in with the Phildelphia Athletics in 1937. By 1941, he was an established regular and was selected for the -star game in 1942. He was traded to the Boston Red Sox near the end of the war and was a part of the great 1946 team.

An allveteran team returned from the wars and completely dominated the American League that year. Mr. Wagner caught 117 games for ners and led the league in putouts. He home runs and knocked in 51 to make for the second time. Mr.

Wagner was traded for Birdie a trade involving the top two catchers hit a personal high .273 that year but his play and he finished his career with 1949. After retiring from professional Wagner worked as a sales representative Meeting, lime and concrete firm. that job several years ago. He was a member of Christ Episcopal ton, and the Riverton Country Club. Surviving are his wife, Jean, at home; KRAMER William H.

Former Haddonfield, N.J., fire chief and borough planning board member Russell M. Hunt died yesterday at his home in Spanish Lakes here. Mr. Hunt, 68, was a fireman for 39 years and lived in Haddonfield until his retirement in 1971. His career as a fireman began in 1932 when he joined I Haddonfield Volunteer Fire Co.

No. 1 while employed by the Girard Bank and Trust Co. in Philadelphia. He became a salaried fireman ten years later. was appointed acting chief in 1953 and chief two years later.

For nine years before his retirement, Mr. Hunt served on the borough planning board. Mr. Hunt was on the board of directors of the New Jersey Fire College for six years and was president of the state Fire Chiefs Association for three years. He also was on the Camden County, N.J., Fire College board of directors for 14 years, and for six years served as board secretary.

He was a member of the Interna- tional Association of Arson Investigation and the National Prevention Association's Clothing Committee. Mr. Hunt was former treasurer the Haddonfield Volunteer Ambulance Association and a member the Haddonfield Rotary Club. A member of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, he was Sunday School treasurer for years; he also served on the Official Board of the Rock Hall United Methodist Church, Rock Hall, Md. He is survived by his wife Beatrice a son, Russell Jr.

of Boca Raton, a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Metts of Stratford, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Earling of Haddonfield and Mrs. Dorothy Hare of logg, Idaho; a brother, Mr. Earl of Buffalo, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Sanctuary of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, Warwick Road, Haddonfield. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family under Hugh T. Sharp, 59, Exxon SOMERS POINT Hugh T. Sharp.

59. of Somers Point died yesterday at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia after a brief illness. Mr. Sharp, a dispatcher-superintendent, was a 33-year employee of Exxon in Paulsboro. He was a member of the Buckeye Gun Club in Cedar Bridge and a second lieutenant in the Army during World War II.
