Interment Sparta, GA.A learn that, instead of planning to develop vacant land near them, the council was determined to keep it forever green. It voted unanimously to transfer an open space restriction from a one-acre Linden Street parcel so a 26-unit low -income housing project can be built. The housing project had already received approval when a title search found the restriction. So the council decided to transfer the open-land restriction to the nine lots, which total acres. All the land is township-owned.

The township sent invitations to last night's public hearing to residents who live within 200 feet of the nine lots. Many thought there were plans to develop the lots. "This letter had a lot of people confused. If you took a poll, I'm sure you'd find most people here are in favor of the Green Acres program," Selwyn Corley told the council members.
