Wife of magnate falls to death from airplane mini LEAVESDEN, England (AP) The wife of British property tycoon John Ritblat fell to her death yesterdayfrom a light airplane as 1 it approached the Leavesden airport at an altitude of several hundred feet, police said. Hertfordshire County police said foul play was not suspected in the death of Isabel Ritblat, 42-year-old mother of three and former secretary to American author and playwright Arthur Miller. They said the twin Beechcraft was approaching privately owned Leavesden airfield, 15 miles northwest of London, when Mrs. Ritblat fell.

Her body was found in a field at the nearby village of Park Street. The small airfield is owned by the Rolls Royce auto firm. Rolls Royce spokesman Bob Bryanton, who lives nearby, said he was in his garden when he saw the plane making its approach. "I looked up and saw it come in with its door swinging open," he said. The plane, which had a pilot and co-pilot aboard, is owned by British Land Company Ltd.

Ritblat is chairman and managing director of the firm, which owns a chain of women's clothes shops and office property in London. Bryanton said he believed Mrs. Ritblat was returning from St. Moritz, Switzerland, where she had been with her 44-year-old husband. Ritblat was believed to have remained in Switzerland, he said.
