In addition to his teaching assignments, he served three years as a chaplain in the Air Force National Guard, Delaware, and taught art therapy at the Alexander Mental Health Center. Born in Philadelphia, Rev.

Buckley attended St. Anne's School, Holy Innocents School and Northeast Catholic High School, all in Philadelphia, and was a 1954 graduate Niagara University, Niagara, N.Y., with bachelor of arts degree in art history. Later, he also studied art at the Peter Marlys, actively involved By HEATHER MILLAR Courier-Post Staff CHERRY HILL Peter Marlys, 72, an easy-going restaurateur and one of the founders of St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church died yesterday at his Cherry Hill home. Relatives said Mr.

Marlys' life revolved around family, restaurants and his church, which puts on the annual Greek Agora festival. "He didn't have a bad word to say about anybody," said Tony Marlys, his son. "He liked his sports. He had a dry sense of humor. He was a nice man to be around." Mr.

Marlys was born in Camden where he lived much of his life. He lived in Merchantville for five years before moving to Cherry Hill in 1960. Before his retirement in 1981, he managed the Litonia Restaurant in Camden for many years. He later owned and operated the Artesian Restaurant on Market Street in Camden. In the 1970s, he became a coowner of Hathaway's Restaurant in Cinnaminson until ill health forced him to retire in 1981.

Philadelphia Arts and at the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., where he received a master of fine arts degree magna cum laude in 1971. Rev. Buckley was the son of the late Daniel F. He i is survived by his mother, Helen Buczkowski; two brothers, Charles and Walter, both of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m.

today at Holy Innocents Church in Philadelphia. Bishop George H. Guilfoyle of the Camden Diocese will be the principal celebrant and the Rev. John V. Oulds, assistant pastor of Corpus Christi Church in Lansdale, and a cousin of Rev.

Buckley, will be the homilist. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Wyndmor, Pa. res restaurateur, with church He was past president of his church's Ahepa Chapter No. 69 and also served as secretary for MANY. years.

Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer Cherry Hill. Visitation will also be held Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral services which begin at noon in St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill.

Alvin Kinter, self-employed landscaper SOUTHAMPTON Services will be tomorrow for Alvin W. Kinter, a self-employed landscaper in the Merchantville-Pennsauken area and a former Pennsauken resident.

Mr. Kinter died Monday after a lengthy illness at the Zurbrugg Memorial Hospital, Riverside Division. He was 74. Self-employed for the past 45 years, Mr. Kinter worked as a landscaper in the MerchantvillePennsauken area.

He had been formerly employed with the New York Shipyard and as a groundskeeper for the Merchantville Golf Course. A former Pennsauken resident, Mr. Kinter had been living in Allenwood Estates, Vincentown, for the past 12 years. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; two daughters, Bonnie Jean Willis of Collingswood and Margaret E. Hettinger of Evesham; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the Bradley Funeral Home, Route 73 and Evesham Road, in the Marlton section of Evesham, where services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow. He was 64. Mr. Oliwa, the army's chief quartermaster and a member of Parliament from 1976-85, died Monday, the agency said. It did not give the cause of death. Mr.

Oliwa, who had served in the army since 1945, held numerous military and government posts. He was a member of the Military Council of National Salvation, which administered martial law that was imposed Dec. 13, 1981, and used to suppress the Solidarity union movement. Solidarity was subsequently outlawed and martial law lifted. Solidarity was legalized again under an April 5 agreement between the independent union and Communist authorities and scored major victories in Sunday's elections.
