BELL FUNERAL HOME 420 S. Main Williamstown, N.J. NAtional 9-7244 CAMDEN The third of three city juveniles charged with the murder last Nov. 8 of a Massachusetts man has admitted firing the fatal shot. Victor Robinson, 17, made the admission yesterday at a hearing before Superior Court Judge Neil F.

Deighan during which he pleaded no defense to the murder charge. Assistant Camden County Prosecutor N.Y. man states guilt in shooting CAMDEN A 22-year-old Brooklyn man faces up to six years in state prison after pleading guilty yesterday to the fatal shooting last Oct. 3 of a 24-year-old Camden man. Basil James entered guilty pleas to manslaughter, atrocious assault and battery and possession of a gun before Superior Court Judge Warren Douglas in the death of Leroy Royal Pegues, 24, of 27 N.

28th and the wounding of William Shockley, 23, of 2710 Howell Street. James told the court the three were in the basement of a house at 29th and Thompson streets when he became involved in an argument Pegues over a woman who was with James. He said Pegues came at him with a pipe and Shockley approached with a knife so he drew a revolver and shot both men. A native of Jamaica, James had been living in Brooklyn and was in Camden on a visit. Dennis Wixted said he would push for the maximum term of life plus 20 years at sentencing.

Robinson, of the 700 block Division Street, Dwayne Michael Thomas, 17, also of the 700 block Division Street, and James Green, 16, of the 800 block Princess Avenue, were charged with the murder of Richard J. Wood of Lawrence, Mass. Thomas pleaded no defense Feb. 21 in return for a sentence not to exceed 33 years in prison. Green pleaded no defense a month earlier in return for a term not to exceed 30 years.

The three said they had stolen a revolver from a Camden junkyard the night before the murder and, on the day of the crime, took the weapon to the corner of Sixth and Washington streets, Camden. Wixted said Robinson was aware there was only one bullet left in the gun when he aimed the pistol at an approaching car. Although Robinson contended he only meant to halt the automobile with the shot, the bullet tore through windshield and struck Wood in the head. He died the next day. Deighan accepted the no defense plea to murder and guilty pleas to murder while armed, conspiracy and possession of a gun.

Wood, 44, was a personnel director for a federal Manpower job program in Lawrence. A retired Marine, he had served as a recruiter in the Camden area and was in South Jersey to visit relatives in Audubon. Robinson will be sentenced in about six weeks. County urges end to refinery strike GREENWICH The Gloucester County Board of Freeholders adopted a resolution yesterday urging management and union officials to end the two-month strike at Texaco's Eagle Point oil refinery in West Deptford. Freeholder-Director Donald H.

Wagner said at a meeting of the board in the Greenwich Township school that the resolution was offered because the strike, which has idled more than 600 workers, poses a major threat to the county's economy. "I'm not saying one is right or the other is right," Wagner said, stressing that the appeal is being made to both sides. Freeholder Milton Fredericks added that the strike also has strained the manpower of the county sheriff's department, which has been monitoring picket lines at Eagle Point for several weeks under a court order. Attending the freeholder meeting was Herbert C. Ross, president of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union, Local 8-678, which represents some 600 striking workers at the West Deptford refinery.

"As public officials, it is your responsibility to bring this (strike) to an end," Ross told the freeholders..
